Community

At Octopus Australia, we’re committed to building meaningful and positive relationships with the community where we operate. We prioritise building respectful, long-lasting community connections and creating benefits in our local areas.

Our community-focused approach shapes our benefit-sharing programs, tailored to each region’s unique context and values. As part of our community benefit framework, we will establish the Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery Community Fund. The Fund will provide up to $50,000 annually to support small projects within 40km of the project.

We’re keen to hear from anyone who has a bright idea for community-based projects we can support which are aligned to our vision.

Contributing to the future vitality and success of the region

The Blind Creek Solar Farm and Battery project will contribute over $2m of funding to the community over the life of the Project, through a bespoke Community Benefit Sharing Scheme and Voluntary Planning Agreement with the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council.

The project’s Community Benefit Sharing Scheme is aligned with our commitment to sustainable agriculture, environmental restoration and community building. We encourage recipients of these funds to direct them towards local initiatives that reflect this vision.
